Shandong has played a major role in Chinese history from the beginning of Chinese civilization along the lower reaches of the Yellow River and served as a pivotal cultural and religious site for Taoism, Chinese Buddhism, and Confucianism. The Yellow River enters the sea, the Great Wall was initially built, and the Great Canal reappears. Mount Tai is the most prominent mountain in Shandong, a place for emperors to perform worship ceremonies and pray for peace and prosperity.

Shandong accelerates the construction of its pilot site for the replacement of old drivers with new ones, leading to continuous innovation as well as the booming of new technology, new industry, new types of business, and new models.

Shandong ranks first among the provinces in the production of a variety of products, including cotton and wheat as well as precious metals such as gold and diamonds. It also has one of the biggest sapphire deposits in the world. Shandong’s location at the intersection of ancient as well as modern north–south and east–west trading routes have helped to establish it as an economic center. There is a saying that “Shandong represents a name card for China’s agriculture.” Today, the rural areas in Shandong have fundamentally changed, and many Shandong pilot programs for rural revitalization have been widely promoted across the province. Emerging types of business such as rural E-commerce and customized agriculture are flourishing, and new media such as rural tourism and distinctive towns have emerged one after another. Gradually, the development thought that green hills and clear waters are mountains of gold and silver has gone deep into people’s heart.
