Titus Contracting completed an entire rebuild in Q4 of 2018 of a new commercial building for Aloha Monkey in Burnsville, MN. The end renovation project appeals to the creative side of tattoo artists and consumers.
Minneapolis, United States – January 8, 2019 —
Josh, this Aloha Monkey’s owner, had the opportunity to purchase a stand-alone building near their previous location a couple of years ago. Purchasing the building allowed the Aloha Monkey to double their size and completely custom design the shop to fit the needs and wants of their business.
The former 1970s service station is transformed into a new, professional office building that showcases creativity at every turn.
In order to complete the project, the building was completely stripped down to its shell. All the old electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and exterior fake veneer were removed. An addition was added to the back half of the building taking it from 1500 square feet to 3000 square feet.
The outside of the building was refinished with new stucco and brick veneer. The entire parking lot was also reworked with brand new curbs, gutters, and blacktop. Inside, all new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and lighting were added. The office space took shape as walls were framed, insulated, and drywalled to now artistically backdrop its varied tattoo designs.
Aloha Monkey was included on a list of 10 Great tattoo parlors in USA Today, provided by an Ink Master judge.
A business has to be really good to be the best in the top 10 tattoo services in the U.S. The completed commercial renovation is now a beautiful new space that provides a fresh, bright, and updated feel! It reflects the way most people want to feel about themselves after updating their personal look.
Likewise, winning a commercial renovation project for a top national chain in its niche means the contractor must be a step above other companies. When a business is setting the stage for people to use art for making a personal statement, the way its premise is built and designed should include a very artful approach. Lee Lawrence of Titus Contracting worked with the owner of the Aloha Monkey tattoo shop to accomplish exactly this.
“Our client is extremely happy with the end result of their project. He told Lee Lawrence, construction project manager, that the final result was the fruition of a two-year dream.” – Scott Rajavuori, President of Titus Contracting.
This Burnsville, MN tattoo can boost of tattoo royalty, according to the USA Today article. Its first owner learned directly Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins, a Honolulu artist who gained national fame from providing creative tattoo services to sailors traveling that way prior to when Hawaii’s gained statehood status.
